About
The county assessors are responsible for determining the amount of property taxes a property owner will pay on an annual basis. Assessors analyze the characteristics and conditions of different properties and review property sales and price trends. The goal of the Ohio County Assessor's office is to assess all property accurately, honestly and fairly.
Duties
An assessor is an expert who determines the appropriate valuation of an asset or property, often for purposes of taxation.
Assessors estimate taxable as well as fair market value based on several objective and subjective measures.
